In a new milestone that reinforces the Sultanate of Oman’s position as an emerging industrial hub in the bus and vehicle manufacturing sector, a strategic partnership agreement was signed between Oman’s Karwa Motors and Mercedes-Benz (Daimler Truck Middle East & Africa) during the Busworld Europe 2025 exhibition held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
The agreement aims to expand regional and global bus manufacturing capabilities by designating Karwa Motors as an officially Certified Builder of Mercedes-Benz buses.
By virtue of this agreement, Karwa Motors will manufacture Mercedes-Benz buses for the Omani market as well as regional and international markets, within an integrated technical and commercial collaboration framework aimed at strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in the region.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ibrahim Al Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of Karwa Motors, and Michael Dietz, President and CEO of Daimler Truck Middle East Africa.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Marcus Watts, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Buses, who remarked: “This agreement represents an important milestone in the development of our collaboration with Karwa Motors. It demonstrates the strength of industrial partnerships in the region and lays the foundation for a robust, export-oriented manufacturing base in Oman.”
On this occasion, Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, stated: “At Karwa Motors, we are proud to sign this strategic partnership with Mercedes-Benz, which represents a significant step toward realizing our vision of establishing Karwa Motors as a global player in the bus manufacturing industry alongside leading manufacturers. Through this agreement, Karwa Motors has become an officially certified Builder of Mercedes-Benz buses, a formal recognition of our manufacturing and technical capabilities that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.”
