As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting national initiatives and strengthening the Sultanate of Oman’s position on the regional and global tourism map, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has inaugurated the activities of Khareef Dhofar from Bank Muscat which will run from 22nd of July to 17th of August 2026. The initiative reflects the Bank’s steadfast commitment to supporting the tourism sector and promoting the unique natural and cultural attractions of the Dhofar Governorate, further reinforcing its standing as one of the region’s and the world’s tourism destinations.
With this year’s activities, Bank Muscat introduces a first-of-its-kind interactive experience, with dedicated booths at Oman Mall in Muscat Governorate and Uptown Salalah in Dhofar Governorate. Equipped with live, interconnected interactive screens named “Khareef Portals”, the two venues will enable visitors at each location to watch activities and events taking place at the other in real time. The innovative concept is designed to bring the Khareef Dhofar experience closer to audiences across the Sultanate, while demonstrating how modern technology can enrich visitor engagement and strengthen connections between Oman’s governorates.
Visitors to the Bank Muscat booth at Oman Mall will be able to experience the vibrant atmosphere, activities and events taking place at the Bank’s booth in Salalah Ateen, while visitors in Salalah will enjoy the live activities in Muscat. This interactive bridge between the two cities offers visitors an immersive, real-time experience that brings the unique ambience of the Khareef season to communities across the Sultanate. It also reinforces Oman’s image as a modern tourism destination that leverages innovation and technology to deliver exceptional visitor experiences. Both booths will feature a diverse programme of activities, including entertainment competitions, interactive experiences and family-friendly attractions suitable for all age groups, ensuring an engaging and enjoyable visit while introducing visitors to the outstanding tourism assets that distinguish Dhofar.
In addition to the interactive activities, Bank Muscat’s sales team will be present at the two venues to introduce visitors and customers to the Bank’s latest banking solutions, products and exclusive offers, and address their enquiries. These include special offers as part of the Bank’s loyalty programme, Bank Muscat Rewards, when customers use Bank Muscat credit cards at restaurants and cafés with a Bank Muscat POS machine across Dhofar Governorate. Valid until 31st of August, the Food & Beverage (F&B) offer allows customer to earn upto 2x reward points, encouraging customers to make the most of their credit cards during the Khareef season. Visitors will also learn about the benefits available when applying for new Bank Muscat credit cards, including the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win an Apple Watch or an iPhone, subject to meeting the required spending criteria, with the promotion running until 30 September. In addition, the team will highlight the Bank’s dedicated financing offer for electric vehicles, reflecting Bank Muscat’s commitment to encouraging sustainable mobility solutions. This offer includes a preferential interest rate, a special “Khareef Dhofar” edition vehicle registration plate offered in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police, and a waiver of the first year’s credit card annual fee for customers applying for electric vehicle financing by 15th of September.
The launch of Khareef Dhofar from Bank Muscat activities forms part of the Bank’s strategic initiatives that underscore its role as a national partner in supporting sustainable development goals and Oman Vision 2040. The initiative aims to highlight the Khareef season as a unique tourism experience found only in the Sultanate, while showcasing Dhofar’s exceptional natural beauty, distinctive climate and rich cultural heritage, making it an attractive destination for visitors from within Oman and abroad. It also contributes to stimulating tourism and economic activity while raising awareness of the opportunities created by this exceptional season. Earlier this year, Bank Muscat also announced its official sponsorship of the Khareef Dhofar Season as the Main Sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the tourism sector and strengthening partnerships with national stakeholders to ensure the success of the season. Through this sponsorship, the Bank seeks to help attract more visitors, support the local economy and further showcase Oman’s unique tourism assets, enhancing the Sultanate’s competitiveness as a world-class tourism destination.
