Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has followed up cases in which members of the national workforce have lost their jobs at some private sector institutions.
“Within the context of cases of termination of services for some members of the national workforce from a number of private sector institutions, the Ministry of Labour would like to confirm that it is following up on these cases and is in constant contact with the concerned parties to achieve stability and job security for the national workforce,” the Ministry of Labour said.
The Ministry affirmed that it is keen to keep the national workforce in employment, based on regulations in the Labour Law, and in compliance with the directives of the Supreme Committee, obliging private sector institutions and companies to maintain the continuity of services of the workforce without any layoffs.
