Muscat: Students attending Indian schools in Oman will start returning to physical classes from the first week of October onwards.
The Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman has drawn up a plan for re-entry of students and teachers in a phased manner, owing to the varying student numbers and resources available to each school.
All students above 12 years, teaching and administrative staff, and parents and visitors to the school have to be fully vaccinated if they seek entry to school campuses.
“Schooling from home can never be a substitute as it’s important that our kids receive essential educational, social, and developmental benefits by attending the school,” said Dr Siva Kumar Manickam, chairman of the Board of Directors.
“The support and encouragement of the Ministry of Education in this regard is indeed praiseworthy. Its comprehensive operational guideline framework is very helpful and encouraging.”
School management committees, principals and staff members will be informing students about the importance of observing COVID protocols.
The exact plans for students to return to individual schools will be communicated to parents through circulars, providing them enough time to adjust their routines.
Parents are advised to follow the guidelines given by the school for the safety and the seamless continuity of physical classes.
