The experience of Qatar in the field of extracting and marketing natural gas is firmly established in the world. This is also evident from the Gulf state’s success in signing contracts with a number of industrialised countries for the expansion of gas production and the utilization of this energy resource. As Qatar holds huge reserves of natural gas, it has the ability to undertake major industrial and commercial projects for decades to come.
The Sultanate of Oman is among a number of countries importing Qatari gas through the Dolphin network. Qatar also supplies gas to other Arab countries as well. Some of the countries importing Qatari LNG have today become major strategic partners with Doha in the field of energy. Other countries are adopting advanced environmental policies to meet the challenges resulting from continuing the process of production, export, transport and discharging LNG.
These giant projects ensure great economic and financial returns for Qatar in the future. It is also working to attract more local and foreign investments into the country, which has expanded its economy significantly during the past three decades. Qatar is indeed a reliable source of energy for the entire region.
