Muscat: In compliance to the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to continue efforts with brotherly and friendly countries, and in response to a request from the government of the United Kingdom, the relevant authorities in the Sultanate of Oman in cooperation and coordination with the authorities in Iran and the United Kingdom, released two British citizens who were detained in Iran.
Following their release, the British citizens arrived in the Sultanate of Oman prior to departure to the UK.
In a tweet, Said Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, said “Nazanin and Anoosheh have arrived safely in Oman. Sincere thanks for the hard work and good faith in Tehran and London that made this possible. Soon they will be with their loved ones at home. We hope this result will bring further progress in the dialogue between the parties.”
