Muscat : Muscat Municipality has announced the establishment of the Grill Zone Project in the Wilayat of Amerat to facilitate the work environment of street vendors.
“As part of the Muscat Municipality projects plan aimed at regulating the activity of street vendors in the governorate, the municipality establishes the Grill Zone Project at the Highlands 2 of the Wilayat of Amerat. The site contains chairs and tables, marble rubbish containers, light poles and accommodation for 20 mobile vending carts to facilitate the work environment of street vendors,” Muscat Municipality said in a statement.
The municipality aims through the project to gather all mobile vendors in one integrated place, develop the area while maintaining a civilised sense of mobile vending activities, in addition to facilitating health control over food quality and protect residential sites from harmful grilling fumes.
Muscat municipality indicated that the project will reduce traffic congestion in the area, improve the overall aesthetic appearance and organise the entrances and exits away from residential areas.
