Doha: Oman Air formally joined the One World Alliance on Monday with the full integration likely to take place by 2024.
The agreement was signed between Abdulaziz Raisi, Ceo of Oman Air and Rob Gurney, Ceo of One World.
The alliance will provide Oman Air passengers access to over 1200 destinations provided by the One-word Alliance, including the lounge access.
Oman Air operates to One World hubs such in Amman, Colombo, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and London.
Speaking to the Observer, Al Raisi said that there is a strategic partnership with Qatar Airways who pushed the file for us to join the alliance.
“We were operating to around 50 destinations before the pandemic but today it is about 40 but expected to reach the pre-pandameic levels by 2023.On new flights joining the fleet, We have a backlog of aircraft to be delivered by Boeing.”
Our fleet will consist of A330s, 787-8 and 9s and 737 Max.
He said the airline will continue to focus on point to point services but will also have Strategic partnerships.
One World Ceo said that joining the alliance will see more member airlines gradually operating from Muscat airport In the coming days.
