Muscat: Naif bin All al Abri, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, has confirmed it is ready to deal with the measures taken to facilitate travel during the pandemic.
CAA said to ensure a gradual and safe return of regular flights in the Sultanate, it has focused on the following objectives during the first phase.
The plans included develop and implementing operational plans that meet the aviation safety and security requirements.
It has adapted service providers’ operational recovery plans with the Civil Aviation legislation, rules and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The -statistics for the first half of this year indicate that the activities of Civil aviation in the Sultanate were affected by the effects of the pandemic, in line with the global impact on the sector.
The number of incoming and outgoing passengers flights decreased by 70 percent and 81 percent, respectively. The number of cargo flights decreased 26 percent during the same period.
