Muscat: More than 500 Omani male and female doctors took a test to compete for entry into the 19 specialised training programmes at Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).
“Today, 525 male and female physicians from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman are taking a test to compete for admission to 19 specialised training programmes in the Omani Council for Medical Specialties for the academic year 2023/2024,” according to the Oman News Agency.
The test consists of 160 multiple-choice questions, and it varies to include all specialised medical fields based on a pre-defined syllabus.
The admission test is held annually, and after taking the test and succeeding in it, the doctors applying to the council must pass in personal interviews for the specialised training programmes for final admission to the Oman Medical Specialty Board.
The assessment committee includes members of the educational committees and members of the teaching staff.
