Oman Broadband Company has signed a cooperation program with the Ministry of Education, represented by the “Khazana” project – an initiative aimed at instilling the principles of financial literacy among school students. This agreement is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships in the field of social investment. It aims to support innovative educational initiatives that contribute to the development of students’ skills and elevate their readiness for future demands. This partnership falls securely under the umbrella of Oman Broadband Company’s corporate social investment programs.
The program encompasses the sponsorship and support of the “Al Tajer Al Sagheer” initiative, targeting students in grades 7 through 11. This educational initiative is designed to cultivate entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and practical skills through hands-on, applied learning experiences. It seeks to enhance students’ innovative capabilities, deeply embed the concepts of the knowledge economy during early academic stages, and contribute to preparing a generation fully equipped with the tools for entrepreneurial thinking and small business management.
The cooperation program was signed on behalf of Oman Broadband Company by Eng. Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Amri, Vice President of Technology, and on behalf of the Ministry of Education by Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Busaidi, Director General of the Directorate General of Information Technology and Communications. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Broadband Company, along with several officials from both parties.
Emphasizing the significance of the agreement, Eng. Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Amri, Vice President of Technology at Oman Broadband Company, stated: “This partnership aligns seamlessly with the company’s commitment to supporting high-impact educational initiatives. Backing the ‘Al Tajer Al Sagheer’ initiative reflects our strategic focus on empowering students with essential entrepreneurial and financial skills while fostering a culture of innovation from an early age. This ultimately contributes to preparing a generation highly capable of transforming creative ideas into tangible, value-driven projects.”
From his side, Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Busaidi, Director General of the Directorate General of Information Technology and Communications at the Ministry, highlighted: “This program represents a significant step in reinforcing our partnership with private sector institutions and supporting initiatives that seamlessly integrate education with practical application. The ‘Al Tajer Al Sagheer’ initiative actively contributes to building an educational environment that stimulates creativity, thereby empowering students with essential future skills in the realms of entrepreneurship and the knowledge economy.”
The signing ceremony concluded with both parties reaffirming the importance of sustained collaboration. They underscored their shared commitment to supporting qualitative educational initiatives that foster innovation and deeply root the culture of entrepreneurship within the school environment, ultimately serving the national objectives of cultivating a highly productive and creative generation.
