Muscat: On the sidelines of the meetings of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held, a meeting, via videoconferencing, with Michele Coninsx, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Counter Terrorism Committee.
The meeting tackled the United Nations’ efforts related to the strategies for combating violent extremism. The meeting also reviewed the best international practices in the field of combating all forms of terrorism and existing cooperation between the Sultanate and the United Nations.
Michele Coninsx, praised the efforts and policies of the Sultanate for combating terrorism and extremism and the constructive cooperation between them.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Humaid bin Ali Al Ma’ani, Head of the International Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry.
