Muscat: The Business Year (TBY), a global media group that has been providing investors, businesses, and governments with first-hand insights into the world’s most dynamic markets for over a decade, has been present in the Sultanate of Oman for eight consecutive years and is gearing up to launch its annual publication, The Business Year: Oman 2021/22, Special Vision 2040 Edition, in partnership with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow Up Unit, at its Oman Vision 2040 and The Future of Investments event at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 12.
The event will be attended by around 150 top CEOs, who will gather to discuss the future of investment in Oman.
The event will kick off with an address by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and followed by a speech by Abdullah Al Hakmani, Head of Projects Management Office at the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.
The Business Year aims to present Vision 2040 to the international community as a wide-ranging blueprint for economic and social development over the next two decades.
It will be a key opportunity for the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow Up Unit to further expand on the vision and debate with top-level executives the interactions between various public and private entities.
It will also allow the Omani business environment to raise challenges it expects to encounter in the future and understand how those challenges will be tackled by the strategic roadmap outlined by the government.
A panel discussion will also take place, where speakers from public and private entities will address their sector of the economy to provide a broader outlook of the policies and programmes that are being tracked to attain shared goals.
Crucial topics will include commitments to diversification, sustainable growth, the circular economy, the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), human development, Omanisation, strategies for capital preservation and robust investment returns.
The government hopes Vision 2040 will place Oman alongside the world’s most developed economies.
The Tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025) represents the executive plan for Vision 2040, and is aimed at overcoming various challenges to ensure high economic growth rates.
The Business Year: Oman 2021/22, Special Vision 2040 Edition features interviews with 150 business leaders from across the economy.
