Over 21,000 intl flights through country's airports

MUSCAT: The total number of passengers travelling through airports in the Sultanate of Oman (Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm) till the end of October 2021 reached 3,349,503, compared to 4,107,142 passengers at the end of October 2020, comprising a decline by 18.4%, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The total number of flights at the airports of the Sultanate of Oman reached 30,375, including 21,466 international flights through Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Sohar Airport.

The number of domestic flights reached 8,909 at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Duqm Airport, compared to 34,873 flights in October 2020, including 29,999 international flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Sohar Airport, and 4,874 domestic flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Duqm Airport by the end of October 2020.

Nationalities of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan topped the total number of passengers in the Sultanate of Oman’s airports till the end of October 2021. The number of Indian passengers stood at 98,556 and the Bangladeshi passengers stood at 36,849. Meanwhile, the number of Pakistani passengers stood at 29,523. – ONA
