OCCI to promote Sultanate as an attractive destination to make films

Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has signed an agreement with Action Films Production Company and Destinations Rising Company, for promoting the Sultanate as an attractive film destination and attracting international film-makers.

These companies have distinguished themselves globally as promoters of film and television production sites.

The OCCI seeks, through this agreement, to promote different terrains and geographical locations, and make the Sultanate an ultimate destination for the film and television production industry globally.

Besides making a preferred destination for film production, it would place the Sultanate on the map of countries that attract such industries, and enable it to enhance effectively its ‘soft power’ so as to project the Sultanate as an attractive tourist destination.

This would be in perfect alignment with the future plans for the tourism sector as stipulated in Vision 2040.
