Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the declaration made by Hans Grundberg, UN Envoy to Yemen regarding the agreement reached by the Yemeni parties to extend the truce for two more months.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
Oman hopes that this step would lead to more discussions under the aegis of the United Nations to reach a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and to address all humanitarian, economic and political issues in a manner that leads to achieving sustainable peace in Yemen.
Oman has also commended the fruitful discussions conducted by the Omani delegation during the visit to Sana’a, in addition to the cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the international community in a bid to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
