According to experts, “An eclipse occurs when the moon blocks the sun either in part or in totality, as seen from Earth. As the moon makes its orbit around Earth, and as Earth orbits around the sun, the moon gets caught in the middle and casts a shadow on Earth. Anyone standing in that shadow will be able to see the solar eclipse.”

Experts also urged people to never look directly at the sun as ‘eclipses can be dangerous because the sudden changes do not give your eyes a chance to adapt.’

According to the Astronomical Society, it will be 36 percent in Muscat, 22 percent in Salalah, 35 percent in Nizwa, 37 percent in Suhar, and 41 percent in Musandam Omani Astronomical Society, in cooperation with the Department of Astronomical Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, will be organizing mass observing events for the partial solar eclipse.
