Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to supporting national initiatives that contribute to economic and tourism development, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced its participation in the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival 2026, organised by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate from 15 July to 30 August 2026, During the opening ceremony, H.E. Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism honoured the bank for its successful participation in the festival. Sami bin Mohammed Al Kindi, Regional Manager of Bank Muscat branches in Dhakhiliya, received the award.
This participation reflects Bank Muscat’s strategy of supporting events that stimulate tourism, promote local development, and provide valuable platforms for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, and home businesses. It also aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to diversify the national economy and strengthen the contribution of the tourism sector to sustainable economic growth.
The festival is recognised as one of Oman’s most prominent annual tourism events. It is held in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, a destination renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery and pleasant summer climate, making it a preferred destination for visitors from across the Sultanate and beyond. The wilayat has also witnessed significant tourism and development projects that have enhanced its infrastructure, attracted further investment, and reinforced its position as one of the Sultanate’s leading tourism destinations at both the national and regional levels.
This year’s festival features a comprehensive programme spanning more than six weeks, offering a wide range of cultural, heritage, recreational and sporting activities that showcase the unique natural and cultural attractions of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The event will also see the participation of more than 85 exhibitors, including SMEs, home businesses, farmers, restaurants, cafés and retail outlets, creating opportunities to promote local products, support entrepreneurs and generate sustainable economic value.
Previous editions of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival have achieved remarkable success in attracting visitors and stimulating economic activity. The 2025 edition welcomed more than 250,000 visitors, featured the participation of 30 small and medium enterprises, and created around 50 temporary employment opportunities for the locals, highlighting the festival’s positive contribution to the local economy and its role in empowering entrepreneurs and families.
Through this sponsorship, Bank Muscat continues to play a leading role in supporting sustainable development by backing national initiatives that deliver tangible economic and social impact while strengthening public-private partnerships. The Bank firmly believes that such events contribute to the development of local communities, create new investment opportunities, and support the growth of tourism, hospitality and related sectors across the Sultanate.
