In recognition of its continued commitment to developing and enhancing human resources and promoting women empowerment in the workplace, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has been awarded the “Company of the Year for Excellence in Women Empowerment in the Workplace 2026” title at The Origin Awards ceremony, organized by Muscat Media Group Muscat at JW Marriott Hotel Muscat. The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Lujaina Mohsin Darwish Al Zaabi, Chairperson of MHD – ITICS, and attended by prominent female executives, board members, and professionals from a range of sectors. Wafa Ibrahim Al Ajmi, Assistant General Manager of Transaction & Government Banking received the award on behalf of Bank Muscat.
The Origin is a leading platform celebrating inspiring women and organizations that contribute to creating meaningful and tangible change in society. This year’s event featured panel discussions led by prominent women from the fields of business, science, sports, the arts, and other sectors, while highlighting experiences and initiatives that strengthen women’s roles and contributions across various fields. Bank Muscat participated in the panel discussion titled “Beyond Expectations: Women at the Forefront of Progress,” during which Wafa Ibrahim Al Ajmi highlighted Bank Muscat’s role in empowering women throughout their professional and leadership journey, as well as the tools needed to turn potential challenges into opportunities for growth and development. She also discussed the role financial institutions can play in supporting women, not only as employees but also as entrepreneurs and active contributors to the national economy, and emphasized the importance of providing an integrated ecosystem of solutions, services, and opportunities that enables women to achieve their economic and professional aspirations. Additionally, the importance of collective efforts by institutions and society was highlighted to showcase how this relationship is central to overcome barriers that may limit women’s access to leadership positions and to develop a new generation of confident, future-ready Omani female leaders.
